I used to think that hypnosis was all about manipulating people to do things they didn’t nescessarily want to do, in fact I remember when I was training to be a nurse, a few of us went to see a stage hypnotist at a local theatre. I was surprised as to how many people were there and how entertaining everyone thought it was.

I thought that the people who had volunteered to go on stage were being controlled, manipulated and humiliated by the hypnotist. I dismissed hypnosis as being just that. Having said that I recognised just how powerful it was.

A few years later my views completed changed when, whilst becoming interested in NLP, I learnt about the skills and genius of the great hypnotherapist Milton Erickson and all the powerful, gentle, empowering and lasting changes that were made to peoples lives through his method of hypnotherapy. This is known as Ericksonian Hypnotherapy.

Nowadays, people are returning to older and natural practices as they recognise that the modern world have been causing them to be overly stressed. there are many relaxation techniques available but, more and more people are seeing the benefits of self hypnosis. Self hypnosis is  now being used, not just as a method of clearing the mind and inner contemplation but also to help with various illnesses in the mind, emotions, and physical well being. You do not have to visit a hypnotherapist as there are now many self hypnosis CD’s available
